FAQ 20 – Why does God allow people to conceive babies who are only going to abuse, abandon or abort them?

Recently, I saw a video of a parent harming their baby. I have seen babies and children being molested, abused and murdered but these people keep on having children. I just don’t understand.  If a baby is a miracle and blessing from God, why does he allow people to have children that are only going to abuse, abandon or abort them?

FAQ 17 “How do you believe for a creative miracle if Jesus work is finished?”

Question: I know that Infertility and miscarriage are caused by some form of sickness, disease or complication and that Jesus is seated because His work is finished. So what if it’s not a sickness or disease preventing conception? I have major damage in my reproductive organs. I also have friends whose tubes were removed and another friend who has gone through early menopause. So in situations like these is a creative miracle needed? If so, I know miracles happen everyday and nothing is impossible with God but my question is “How do you believe for a creative miracle if Jesus work is finished?”

Answer: You are right that generally infertility and miscarriage are caused by a sickness, disease or complication in the mother, father or unborn baby and that Jesus has already provided healing for ALL forms of sickness and disease through the finished work of the Cross. And anyone who believes in Jesus can lay hold of the victory Jesus purchased by co-labouring with Him to see His Healing power released for that area or situation in their lives.

If there’s something missing or something has been removed from your body (such as reproductive organs) through an abnormality, birth defect or surgery then a creative miracle is needed because you can’t heal something that is not there. So a creative miracle is required to replace what was damaged or missing.

The good news is that Paul described the gifts of the Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12 and he revealed that healing and miracles are available to and through the body of Christ today:

Now there are distinctive varieties and distributions of endowments; gifts, extraordinary powers distinguishing certain Christians, due to the power of divine grace operating in their souls by the Holy Spirit and they vary, but the Holy Spirit remains the same. 5 And there are distinctive varieties of service and ministration, but it is the same Lord Who is served. 6 And there are distinctive varieties of operation of working to accomplish things, but it is the same God Who inspires and energises them all in all. 7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Holy Spirit; the evidence, the spiritual illumination of the Spirit for good and profit. 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 Amp

The Apostle Paul then goes on in verses 8-11 to list the gifts (manifestation of extraordinary powers) that flow by the power of God’s divine grace operating in our souls (mind, will, intellect) which are; wisdom, knowledge and understanding, wonder-working faith, powers of healing, working of miracles, prophesy, discerning of Spirits, various kinds of tongues, and the ability to interpret such tongues.

Paul not only revealed what was available but also how it flows to and through the body of Christ, and that is through the manifestation of the indwelling Holy Spirit! In fact when this power is at work IN US God can do superabundantly far over and beyond what we can even dream think or imagine:

Now to Him Who, by in consequence of the action of His power that is at work within us, is able to carry out His purpose and do superabundantly, far over and above all that we dare ask or think infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreamsEphesians 3:20 Amp

This truth will bring hope and be an encouragement to many but will also be a stumbling block to some because rather than resting in Jesus ability they will end up struggling in their own self effort, trying to make a miracle happen. But as we just read in the Scripture above, how we see God do far over and beyond what we can even dream, think or imagine is according to “His power” that is “at work in us”! It is God’s power working in us and not our own! So let me encourage you not to get caught up in your flesh trying to make your breakthrough happen, but instead look to Jesus, who is the author and perfector of your faith, because when it comes to the miraculous always remember that it is:

Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. Zechariah 4:6b NIV

So don’t struggle in your own ability, because healing or creative miracles will not manifest by human will, head knowledge or by the work of your flesh. They flow by the power and fruit of the Holy Spirit. We simply need to come into agreement with and partner (co-labour) with God’s indwelling Spirit so that He can reveal His wisdom, revelation, counsel and supernatural power for our breakthrough.

So if you need a miraculous healing or creative miracle, don’t struggle in your own ability, instead rest in Jesus power by partnering with Him so that His life, presence and supernatural power can freely flow!

FAQ 1 – Rest Vs Exercising Authority

Question:  I am finding it difficult to reach the place of where I’m practicing my authority while at the same time being at rest.  How do I do this?

Answer: I totally understand where you are coming from.  When you understand what Jesus has already purchased and our position in His Kingdom we will know what it means to rest in Christ and how to see His Kingdom outworking in our life.

FAQ 4 – How Come God has NOT healed me or given me a Baby yet?

Question: – How Come God has NOT healed me or given me a Baby yet?

Answer: When it comes to the Finished Work of the Cross and what Jesus has ALREADY purchased, this is ALREADY your inheritance!

God is NOT Withholding from you!

The truth is that God cannot withhold (or withdraw) what He has already freely done through His son. If you are in Christ then what Jesus purchased is already your inheritance. You received this inheritance when you first came into relationship with Him!

When you first accepted Jesus free gift of Salvation did He have to go and die all over again for your sins? No! Why?  Because He already provided the way for you (and for the whole world) 2000 years ago. Likewise, He does not need to shed one more drop of blood to redeem you from the consequences of sin, or take one more stripe for your healing!

What Jesus did on the Cross was a complete, perfect and finished work!

When we received the free gift of Salvation we entered into a position of rest, which is a Covenant relationship based on Jesus performance and not on our own. Did you know that God is not going to heal you or make you fruitful? Do you know why?

Because He already has!

Healing has already been established for you! It was signed and sealed by the blood of Jesus. So instead of praying, begging or waiting for God to move know that God has already moved! He has already sent forth His Word and healed, you delivered you, redeemed you, prospered you and made you FRUITFUL and whole!  Psalm 103:1-3 says that God forgives ALL sin, and heals ALL diseases and 2 Pet 2:24 says “By His stripes we were healed – Note that for New Covenant believers that this is ALL past tense!

Remember always the simple truth that: Infertility, miscarriage, pregnancy health issues, baby health issues, childbirth or postnatal complications and whatever causes this are simply different forms of sickness or disease manifesting in reproductive health! But know that Jesus paid the price for all forms of sickness and disease no matter what shape or form they manifest in: headache, toothache, infertility, miscarriage, arthritis, stomach ulcers, back conditions or cancer!  It’s all the same to God! We grade sickness into a hierarchy and exalt certain conditions above others. But we need to stop analysing sickness through a natural or medical mindset and instead bring it ALL subject to the truth of the cross and see it how God sees it – It is disarmed, defeated and FINISHED through Jesus finished work!

Therefore, I encourage you to renew your mind with the truth that God has ALREADY done everything He could possibly do!  IT IS FINISHED!  Sickness, disease, infertility and miscarriage are FINISHED! God has finished His part, it is now up to you to get to KNOW, BELIEVE and ACT on this truth so you can see His power released to transform every area of your life.

Some simple steps to help you act on this truth is:

Find what God’s Word says about healing and/or children

Spend time meditating and renewing your mind with this truth so it becomes real and ALIVE to you personally

Relationship – Spend time in fellowship with God – be still in His presence and let Him guide and lead you into your victory.

Put it into Practice by acting on what you believe you have received through Jesus finished work! Phil 4:9 (NIV) says “Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you”.

And my prayer for you is that the rest will be History!

FAQ – If God is in control, why have I not conceived yet?

This is another Frequently Asked Question that I receive.

I pray that my answers to all of these FAQ’s will help you to renew your mind to God’s goodness and to know that He is ALWAYS willing, ready and able to show Himself strong to you in your time of need!

This question and others like it come from the assumption that God is withholding from us. But does this line up with the nature of God described throughout the Bible?

I believe that if God was in control of everything that happens in our life then NO ONE would be sick, die or suffer and NO ONE would miscarry or be barren!

Have I got you thinking?

FAQ – Can our Past Hinder our Breakthrough?

Question: Can our Past Hinder our Breakthrough?

Answer: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. Eph 2:8-9

One area that I haven’t yet specifically covered is to do with our past. Remember, we are….

FAQ – I know what God’s Word says BUT how do I get it to manifest?

Question: I know what God’s Word says but how do I get it to work for me?

Let me answer this by sharing some of my own journey with you…

When my husband was first diagnosed as ‘sterile’, I received, believed and conceived the diagnosis of the doctor, ‘that we would never have a child of our own’. This diagnosis and other natural circumstances were more real to me than God and His healing power. I would constantly beg, plead and cry out for God’s help because I could see no way out of our situation. I saw Shaun and myself as a childless couple. Every baby, or pregnant woman was just a painful reminder of what I did not have and what I was told that I could not have. The more I focused on these natural circumstances, the more hopeless my situation would become – in my outlook and thinking!

I thank God that this was short lived! It was not long before I discovered this truth in His Word…

Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, 26 and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span. Exodus 23:25-26(NIV)

When I discovered this truth, it became a shot of life to me BUT my feelings, thinking or circumstances did not change. In fact everything appeared to grow worse and because I did not know how to see that truth become reality in my life, I would let go of this truth and end up stuck in the natural realm. So I was constantly being torn between the natural circumstances and the truth of what God’s Word says.

It is important when we get stuck in the flesh like this that we can simply stop, wait and listen. Why try to ‘make God’s Word work’ when He Himself can show you what to do?! When I stopped ‘doing’ and started ‘listening’ He began to show me how to walk by what His Word says to remain in a place of rest and not walk by what my circumstances said. Now, when I say rest I mean to rest in God’s ability and not in our own abilities. At first this whole process was difficult for me, because up until that point I had only ever known how to walk by my feelings, emotions and by what my natural senses were telling me. Instead I had to keep God’s Word close to my heart because my natural thinking and analyzing would always get the better of me. I achieved this by meditating (which means to study, ponder, utter, mutter) on God’s truths regardless of how I felt and regardless of what the circumstances were. And you know what? Soon God’s truth became more real to me than my natural circumstances! I found that all the begging, pleading, striving and desperation left me! I also started to see myself with my victory (my baby) rather than without it. And what was happening to other couples (good or bad) no longer affected me because I knew God’s will for my own life and for my own family! I also found that what was happening each month in the natural (no positive pregnancy test) was no longer tormenting me or stealing my joy! And praise God, soon my natural circumstances began to line up with what I saw through the eyes of faith (what God’s Word said), and I conceived my first miracle baby!!! Shaun’s doctor could not believe it! When Shaun told him over the phone that I was PREGNANT he told him to drive to his office immediately! And do you know what he said? He told Shaun that because he was sterile it was impossible, and that there was no way that this could be his baby! But God has a great sense of humour because all 4 of our miracle children when born were the image of their father!

Now, you may not be desiring a baby, but what other “baby” are you desiring to conceive? Do you need healing, a financial or business breakthrough, or do you need victory over fear, depression, discouragement or something else along these lines? It does not matter what “baby” you are desiring to conceive. Your breakthrough in any area begins the same way – when you conceive the truth in God’s Word! God’s Word is His seed on this earth and is how we see His Kingdom grow and bear fruit in our lives.

When you know what God’s Word says regarding your situation, spend time in that truth, allowing it to grow and transform the way you think and the way you see your natural circumstances so that your circumstances can change! They may initially grow worse but regardless, don’t let go of the truth! I’m not talking about denying what is happening but there are times when we need to walk by God’s truth in spite of what is happening!

Remember that God’s Word is like a seed and it can take time for a seed to develop roots, grow and bear fruit. This is why it is so important not to let what is happening on the surface or natural realm to move you. There are no short cuts or quick fixes. Give God’s Word time to transform your thinking so that what His Word says becomes more real to you than what you are facing in the natural. And above all else continue to seek God for who He is and not just for the breakthrough you need, because when you know Him, then you have your breakthrough! He will personally bring His Word to life and show you how to apply it in a simple yet powerful way and on a daily level. So keep fixing your eyes on who He is because you will discover that with Him, nothing is ever impossible!

FAQ – I prayed, fasted and believed but I still did not receive my breakthrough. Does this mean that I don’t have enough Faith?

Question: I prayed, fasted and believed but I did not receive (or have still not received) my breakthrough. Does this mean that I don’t have enough Faith?

Answer: I used to feel this way too! That was until the Lord showed me that this thinking is not the right focus because our breakthrough is not based on our own ability or performance but on Jesus’ ability and on His performance!

What is Faith?

Many have the wrong idea of what faith is. Their whole concept of faith is based upon their own actions so they get caught up in works and self-effort trying to please God or to get Him to respond to their need. But Faith is simple! Faith is trusting that Jesus’ sacrifice was enough – knowing that our works or self-effort will not earn righteousness, favour  or anything else from God.

Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the Word of Christ. Rom 10:17

Faith comes and grows from hearing about who Jesus is and resting in what He has done!

Our faith in Jesus is enough because when we believed in Him we received everything we needed to live a victorious and blessed life – one that’s worth living! And you know what else? We don’t need to keep hearing the Word to get more faith. Instead, we need to keep hearing so we can discover what we already have!

Faith is not based on Works but on Rest!

It is easy to get caught up in works and self-effort and doing everything we know to get our breakthrough. We have prayer vigils, we fast, we declare the word, and do everything in our own strength to make things happen. However, we can only keep this going for so long, so we end up worn out, burnt out, confused, and discouraged.

If our breakthrough is dependent on ‘our faith’ (on our ability to believe) or on our performance by praying or doing the right things to make something happen, then we need to constantly maintain it. But think about this: if we had to do a whole bunch of stuff to receive then the end result would not be based on a free gift but on our ability to perform. Salvation comes ONLY as a free gift and is received by believing in Jesus! Seeing the fullness of what we have inherited upon salvation outworking in our lives comes the same way.

Praise God for Jesus! He has already paid the price, by redeeming you and giving you everything you need for your victory. Instead of striving to receive, rest and believe in what you’ve already received!

For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his worksas God did from His. Heb 4:10

The only striving the Christian needs to do is to labour to remain in a position of resting in Jesus (Heb 4:4). This comes when what God’s Word says regarding your situation becomes ‘living and active’ – alive and real to you personally. You have spent the time meditating on God’s truth until your thinking has been transformed so regardless of circumstances you are seeing yourself with the breakthrough rather than without it. However, if you are struggling in trying to obtain your breakthrough or if you are in a place of striving, feeling desperate, hopeless or discouraged then you are not at rest. It’s time to stop ‘doing’ and start ‘being’. In other words, stop ‘doing healing’ by working towards healing, instead meditate on Jesus finished work until you ARE healed! That way your focus and actions are no longer ‘working towards’ healing (or your breakthrough) but rather ‘walking in’ healing – where you are experiencing the breakthrough you need!

FAQ – Walking by Faith Vs Dead Works

Question:  What is the difference between “Walking by faith” and “Dead works”?

Answer: knowing the definition of both will bring clarity.

In a nutshell…

Walking by faith is acting on what you believe Jesus has already purchased for you.

Dead works is based on self-effort and on your ability to earn or to perform to please God by trying to do good, or to follow the law (or traditions and doctrines of men).

This doesn’t just apply for when we first received Salvation but also how we live the Christian life and experience the fullness of what Salvation contains; forgiveness, healing, fruitfulness, deliverance from evil, and a close relationship with God as our Heavenly Father.

It is not about ‘doing’ but about ‘believing’!

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. Eph 2:8-9(NKJV)

Salvation and everything that being ‘saved’ contains is a gift from God, freely provided by His grace. It is a free undeserved provision not based on what we can or cannot do – on our performance, but is totally based upon Jesus performance – on what He has already done!

It is important to note here that faith does not ‘earn’ Salvation (or anything else for that matter). Faith simply positions us to receive what was freely provided. Faith means to believe and trust in Jesus and that His finished work was enough so that we don’t have to do a whole bunch of stuff to earn favour from God or to receive from Him. We are saved; forgiven, healed, prospered and made whole because we believe in Jesus!

Salvation and the Christian life is not about being performance driven but about believing and acting on what has already been given.

To identify if you are Walking by Faith or caught up with striving and dead works depends on your heart motivation.

Are you simply acting on what you believe you have received or is your focus on trying to receive?

Do you see yourself with the victory or without it? I am not talking about the natural circumstances but what do you believe about your natural circumstances?

Are you resting in what Jesus has done and you are experiencing peace or are you frustrated and have no rest?

We all act on what we believe.

It is so easy to become overwhelmed by what we experience in the natural realm. If our circumstances, symptoms or diagnosis is more real to us than what God’s Word says then we can only respond according to what is happening in the natural. It affects what we do, think and say and the more we focus on the natural the more consumed we can become. It is easy then to fall into self-effort mode where out of a place of fear or desperation we start ‘doing’ a whole lot of naming, claiming, binding, loosing, begging and pleading to get God to move or to do something for us. Or we do the opposite we let go of the truth and give up or give into what’s happening or to how we feel.

If we are consumed with fear, desperation or discouragement, we are not at rest. We are stuck in the natural realm where for many there is no hope. If we want to break out of this cycle then we need to remind ourselves of what Jesus has already done and what we have already inherited as a believer. We do this by continuing to meditate on what God’s Word says regarding our situation. This is why we don’t confess, declare, name, claim and do a whole bunch of stuff to get God to move or to do something for us.  Instead, we need to meditate, (which means to study, mutter, utter) on God’s truth to move us into a deeper understanding and personal revelation of what has already been doneWhen God’s Word regarding our situation comes alive and real to us personally then our actions will then come from a different heart motivation. We start walking from a place of victory, acting on what we believe, knowing the battle has already been won rather than battling the natural trying and striving to see the breakthrough.

Questions and comments welcome!
