How to rest in Jesus finished work during Pregnancy Complications!

How to rest in Jesus finished work during Pregnancy Complications!

I felt led to share with those of you who face complications in your pregnancy not to be thrown “if” a challenge presents itself. Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed by the complications we face and we get caught up in analyzing why they are there or how come we are struggling etc. But at the end of the day, try not to focus on the natural facts and on the why’s or how’s, instead focus on the solution, which is Jesus and His finished work!

During my 1st pregnancy it seemed like a constant battle for Kaitlin’s life! We’d overcome one hurdle and another would present itself BUT as we stopped looking to the challenges and instead looked to Jesus and focussed on the answer, we were able to get the victory every single time.

Remember always that Jesus has ALREADY won the battle for you! The price has been paid and the victory already won over any form of sickness or disease – and this includes all the complications that can manifest itself in your pregnancy!

The Bible says many are the afflictions of the righteous BUT the Lord shall deliver us from them all. Therefore, the Good News for those of us in the New Covenant is that we already have victory over any complication we may face in a pregnancy because Jesus has already gone before us and won the battle through His finished work.

I encourage you to take one day at a time as you grow in this truth and learn to rest in what Jesus has already purchased for you. Keep meditating on the truth of what Jesus has already done because this will help to renew your mind and for this truth to come to life and become real to you personally. Also remember that you don’t have to labour to make healing manifest! One of the most powerful prayers you can pray is:-

PRAYER: “Lord I can’t do this, I can’t make this happen so I resign from all of my trying and self-effort and I ask you to help me because all things are possible with you”.

This will help you to take the focus off of you and what you can do and to rest in Jesus power and ability instead. I know many who have experienced a supernatural breakthrough this way. It is soooo freeing to know that we don’t have to fight this battle alone and do everything in our own strength. Jesus is right there with you and He is looking to show Himself strong to you and help you in your time of need :)

Now that is Good News!

FAQ – Can our Past Hinder our Breakthrough?

Question: Can our Past Hinder our Breakthrough?

Answer: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. Eph 2:8-9

One area that I haven’t yet specifically covered is to do with our past. Remember, we are….

FAQ – If Jesus healed ALL who came to Him, why am I still sick?

Another FAQ on Healing…

The Bible says that Jesus went about healing ALL who were sick. It doesn’t say that these people did anything particularly special. He just had compassion on them and healed ALL OF THEM. Where I get hung up is this, why are people still sick today?

I believe it is important to understand the Finished work of the Cross, our New Covenant and also our position in the Kingdom! When reading the Bible we need to understand this because we are no longer in the Gospels – we are now post cross, spirit filled New Creations.

Only Believe?

Mark 5:35-36 While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” 36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.”

What does it mean to “only believe”? Unfortunately many read this Scripture and think to “only believe” means that they are to look to themselves and to their own faith or ability to believe for the breakthrough they need. But was Jesus saying to Jairus “You must only have faith for me to heal your daughter?”

When you know what the words “only” and “believe” mean you will understand that this was NOT based on Jairus “ability to believe” but on Jesus “willingness to heal” and to show Himself strong in the situation.

The Word “only” in the Greek means “only” or “alone”. But this Word comes from a root word that means to remain, abide, to sojourn, tarry; not to depart, to continue to be present, to be held, and kept, continually.

These definitions are consistent with Scripture. Look at what Jesus said elsewhere…

Jn 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

The word “abide” in the scripture above is the same root word that the word ‘only’ in Mark 5:36 comes from!

Jesus was saying to Jairus, “Only abide and continue to remain in me!”

The Word ‘believe’ in the Greek means to be persuaded of, to credit, place confidence in.

So ‘believe’ means to have trust and confident assurance. But think about this – What do you need to place your trust and confidence in? In your ability to believe, or in Jesus willingness to heal?

I believe the meaning of Faith has been misinterpreted and has therefore caused many to feel condemned when they doubt. This can consequently lead to feeling inadequate in faith because they feel they are lacking in this area. But faith has nothing to do with our ability – it is not about putting our trust and confidence in ourselves!

The Amplified Bible defines the word ‘faith’ as… the leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness…(refer to the following Scriptures in the Amplified Bible Col 1:4, Col 2:5, 2 Thes 1:11, 2 Tim 3:15, Heb 10:22, Heb 13:7).

Therefore Faith is about putting our trust in God’s power, wisdom and goodness and not in ourselves! Remember faith is ‘the way of Salvation’, and the Salvation Jesus purchased for us includes perfect health and wholeness in every area of our lives. Faith for Salvation (and for everything Salvation contains) literally means that we are believing, trusting and resting in Jesus ability and not our own! We rest in Jesus finished work on the Cross! Faith doesn’t earn Salvation but rather positions you to receive what Jesus has already done!

Therefore, when Jesus said “Only Believe” to Jairus, He was saying, “Jairus, don’t look to yourself, or to the deadness of your circumstances BUT only remain, abide and continue to look to me by trusting in my ability and on my willingness to heal”.

Can you see now how this had nothing to do with Jairus ability, BUT had everything to do with Jesus ability? Jairus wasn’t to look to himself and try to find the faith to believe BUT all he ‘had to do’ was to only look to Jesus! Jesus is the author of life and perfector of faith!

This is also consistent with Scripture…

John 3:14-15 in The Message Bible says… In the same way that Moses lifted the serpent in the desert so people could have something to see and then believe, it is necessary for the Son of Man to be lifted up—and everyone who looks up to him, trusting and expectant, will gain a real life, eternal life.

This scripture is referring to the account when the children of Israel were wandering in the wilderness. They were being bitten by poisonous fiery serpents, which resulted in death (see Numbers chapter 21). When the people cried out to God for deliverance, God said to Moses in Numbers 21:8 “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.” And do you know what happened? Numbers 21:9 says So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived.

The Bronze serpent on the pole was a type of Jesus and His finished work on the Cross. Jesus bore all our sin, sickness, disease and death on his body. Therefore, everyone who looked to Jesus lived!

Now back to Mark chapter 5 and to Jairus…Jesus was saying to Jairus, look to me and your daughter will live! And do you know what happened next?

Mark 5:41-42 in the Amplified Bible says…Gripping her firmly by the hand, He said to her, Talitha cumi—which translated is, Little girl, I say to you, arise from the sleep of death! 42 And instantly the girl got up and started walking around—for she was twelve years old. And they were utterly astonished and overcome with amazement.

Jairus’ daughter was healed and made whole!

My friend, be encouraged because Jesus is unchanging! He is always the SAME, yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8)! He cannot change His nature and He is still looking to show Himself strong to you! So let the Holy Spirit lead you into all truth by taking what belongs to Jesus and making it known to you personally.

And let me end by encouraging you to stop looking to yourself, trying to build your faith and trusting in your ability to believe, but rather remain, abide and continue to look to Jesus by trusting in His ability and resting in His finished work instead”.

And soon the rest will be History!

God CANNOT Withhold from You!

Did you know that when it comes to healing and everything else that Jesus purchased on the Cross, God CANNOT withhold it from you?

Psalm 84:11b says…No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

I have already posted a message on what it means to walk uprightly perviously here but the point I want to make today is that God cannot and will not withhold anything good from you, ever!

Let this Truth MAKE you Free!

I really want you to seek to understand the finished work of Jesus for yourself because then you will know how impossible it is for God to withhold what He has already freely given you! And what is it that has already been given? Everything that Jesus purchased on that cross! That’s right! What Jesus purchased ALREADY belongs to you!

2 Peter 1:3-4 says…His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

But what about God’s will for our lives? If we don’t know what God’s will is for our lives, then we won’t know what is available. But praise God this is easily resolved because His will can easily be determined. God’s will for our life is not what our circumstances are, what our diagnosis is, or what our well-meaning friends say, it is what His Word says!  His Word shows us His will and gives us the information we need! So it is important we discover what God’s Word says so that we can know His will in any given area of our life. And then we need to spend time meditating on that truth and on Jesus’ finished work, so that the information we gain can become revelation! Now this is when God’s truth comes to life and becomes real to you personally! And when you know what Jesus purchased on the Cross, you will then be able to see that what Jesus purchased is not a promise but rather a PROVISION! And because it is a PROVISION, God cannot take it back or withhold it from you!

Romans 11:29 Amp says…For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable. He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.

The Message version of this verse says…’God’s gifts and God’s call are under full warranty—never canceled, never rescinded’.

God cannot take back or withhold what He has already freely provided for you!  That is Good news! But there is more… God does NOT show Favouritism either! This means that what Jesus purchased on the Cross is freely available to ALL who come to Him!

Romans 2:11 in the Amplified Bible says…For God shows no partiality, undue favor or unfairness; with Him one man is not different from another.

Do you see how good God is?! God does NOT show partiality, which means favouritism (see also Acts 10:34)! This means that God does not choose whom He is going to bless or not bless. Or whom He is going to heal or not heal, or whom He will give a baby to!  ALL of God’s gifts (including children) are freely available to ALL who believe in Jesus! In fact, the Bible tells us anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, and the word “saved” in Greek means: to be forgiven, healed, delivered, prospered, made FRUITFUL and whole (see Rom 10:11-13)!

My dear friend, if you are waiting on God to do something for you, it can be fruitless because when it comes to the finished work of Jesus, God is waiting on you to take Him at His Word and freely enjoy what He has already given to you!

The price has been paid and the victory already won for you!

Forgiveness is already Yours!

Deliverance is already Yours!

Healing is already Yours!

ALL because of Jesus Finished Work!

So now that you know what you’ve been believing for is ALREADY your PROVISION and that God CANNOT withhold what He has already freely provided, it is time for you to lay hold of and ENJOY your inheritance NOW!

Waiting on God?

The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. Lam 3:25 (KJV)

Many believe that waiting on the Lord means to wait on the Lord for the length of time that it would take for Him to move in our life. However, the Bible itself explains what it means to wait on the Lord.
